Friday was a very eventful day… starting early morning at Westminster Abbey… long line… Stephen Hawking ashes… famous people… under our feet… learning trails for self-led visits… scientists trail… Poets’ Corner… just recently opened… less crowded… The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries…
Missed concert at the Barbican 🙁
Discovered Whitecross Street Market for lunch…
Picnicked in Fortune Street Park… with a jazz impromptu… just a day ahead of the community fun day… a fun day away 🙂
On to the prime theme of the day… Greenwich 🙂
We found the meridian(s)… the Royal Observatory… a beautiful view of the City… camera obscura… a giant ship in a bottle… ending the eventful Friday in South Bank… with tickets at Shakespeare’s Globe for Saturday… and a delicious and already a family tradition dinner at Tas Pide… delicious in every dish!
From Westminster… to Barbican… Greenwich… via The City… to South Bank… we traveled through 5 boroughs in one day… and added each of them for a full discovery day to our future travel wish list!
